The City Union of Mothers' Clubs of Des Moines was an organization made up of representatives of the mothers' clubs of local schools.
At monthly meetings the women heard presentations and discussed such issues as child labor, juvenile literature, and crime among children in Des Moines. In 1905 the members resolved to invite the Negro Mothers' Club to affiliate, but reconsidered when they realized that club had not yet been organized. In 1906 they decided to ask the probation officer of the Juvenile Court to look after the welfare of girls whose mothers worked away from home.
