Club woman Barbara Wommack belongs to the Semper Fidelis club, an organization of African-American women in Davenport, Iowa, concerned with community and educational improvement. She has held office both as the head of public relations and as the club president. Wommack's involvement in Semper Fidelis led to her participation in the National Association of Colored Women's Clubs (NACWC) and its state branch, the Iowa Association of Colored Women's Clubs (IACWC). She served as chair of the public relations committee of the IACWC for several years and eventually was appointed publicity co-chair of the NACWC as well. Wommack was also involved in the Retired Senior Volunteers Program.
