Leona Call was a Professor of Greek during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. At the State University of Iowa (now the University of Iowa), she headed the department of Greek from 1885 until her retirement in 1908. At the State University of Iowa Call helped establish the Young Women's Christian Association (now defunct). During World War I she headed the Iowa Educational Division in National Defense.

Use: Copyright held by the donor has been transferred to the University of Iowa.
Acquisition: The items (donor no. 237) were donated by Carlton W. Crosley, Leona Call's great nephew, in 1994.
